Mustang Naz Lead
Dear Mustang Naz Leaders, We are launching a new leadership development process Mustang Naz Leads beginning on Wednesday, July 29, at 6:30 pm, in the Community Room for all those at Mustang Naz who find themselves in leadership positions. At Mustang Naz, we value connection and community. Our mission is to show the Love of Jesus to Everyone. Everywhere. Every Day. The mission of the Church in the world is to continue to share in the redemptive and reconciling ministry work of Christ in the power of the Spirit [through holy living, evangelism, discipleship, and service. The Church fulfills its mission by making disciples through evangelism, education, showing compassion, working for justice, and bearing witness to the kingdom of God. The Church is a historical reality, which organizes itself in culturally conditioned forms; exists both as local congregations and as a universal body; sets apart persons called of God for specific ministries. (Church of the Nazarene, Article of Faith XI) Recently, our pastors, board members, and leadership committees have prayerfully been sensing God’s call to press into intentionally participating in this missional emphasis of the Church. We have been hearing you ask: “So, how do we do it?”, “Help us make this practical”, “Is there a process?”. You are offering time, talents, and resources. As such, you want to feel like your efforts and faithfulness are aligned with purpose. One of Mustang Naz’s core values is that we will dream big, take risks, work hard, and not settle for mediocre living. So now, we are inviting you along with this big dream we have- equipping disciples to become disciple makers! As a result, every leader is asked to identify and invest in an apprentice leader. Who do you want to invite along in the journey? As a year-long process, we will read and discuss Lead Yourself by Mac Lake. Leaders will be asked to read one chapter each month before the coaching conversation and the cohort discussion. To further develop character, habits, and leadership capacity needed to faithfully serve Christ and His Church, we will implement: 1. Bi-Monthly Large Group Gathering 2. Bi-Monthly Cohort Meetings 3. Monthly Coaching (virtual options available) Thank you for all the ways you are serving diligently. Thank you for your willingness to dream with us about new and deeper ways to lead, serve, and disciple others. We are excited to see what God will do as we intentionally grow ourselves and develop the next generation of leaders at Mustang Naz. Thursday, June 25th Fireworks Fundraiser - Visit Fireworks Central to learn how to support our teens as they raise funds for key spiritual formation trips like camp, NYC, Fall Retreat, and more. Sunday, June 28th NazKids VBS Finale is this Sunday. We’ll still check in at 9:30 AM for our final VBS activities before our celebration service in the sanctuary at 10:30 AM. We’ll sing VBS songs and our NazKids Pastoral team will lead our message that morning. Sunday School Groups meet at 9:30 AM and Worship Service is at 10:30 AM. Click here for help finding a group if you haven’t joined one already. Freedom Celebration is Sunday, June 28th at Salyer Lake Camp. The gate opens at 3:00 PM and we’ll enjoy a fireworks show after dark. There will be waterfront activities all afternoon and food will be available for purchase at the camp or you can pack your own. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc. Upcoming Events SWOK Youth Camp - Early registration ends July 1st Fall Kickoff - On August 2nd we’ll begin locking in for the school year. We’ll be promoting our NazKids and Students to their next grades for classes and we’ll be starting a sermon series called “I’m Game.” This series will help us look at how each of us can get more involved in the mission and vision of how we live out being the church here at Mustang Naz!New here? On Mission Updates
Here's how Mustang Naz is On Mission This Month Here’s the central hub of how you can get connected with mission projects with our church! A Place For All A Place For All hosts a booth at the Newcastle farmers' market where they hand out Bibles, pocket-sized New Testaments with Proverbs and Psalms, Christian Living books, and small items for kids (rubber ducks, “baby” Jesus, notebooks, etc). All of these items are acquired through donations. Not a weekend goes by that someone doesn’t come up to our booth and find the exact Bible or book that they are looking for or need for something going on in their lives. It’s amazing to see God working so powerfully through our little booth! Food Pantry Join us on June 6th for our First Saturday Pantry lunch! We’ll be serving pulled pork sandwiches and all the fixins, and we’d love for you to come enjoy a meal, connect with others, and spend time with our visitors. Join us for this opportunity to share community, kindness, and good conversation. Bring a friend and come hang out—we’d love to see you there. Fostering Our Village Our mission is to empower and support foster, adoptive and displaced families in our community. We are dedicated to making a positive impact by providing cost-free clothing, toys, and other essential items to those in need. Our commitment is to bridge the gap between resources and families, ensuring that they have the tools and support necessary to thrive. The Shop will be open Wednesday Nights from 5:30 - 7:30 PM starting June 3rd. Friends Of Western Heights We will be collecting donations to help provide backpacks for students at Greenvale Elementary. School supplies go on sale early in the summer—especially during June and July—so we invite you to give now to help us prepare. Thank you for supporting these children and helping them start the school year equipped and encouraged. Jubilee Partners Jubilee Partners is hosting a Back To School Literacy Camp. Dates are July 27th - August 6th. Sessions will meet Monday - Thursday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM Ideally, volunteers can commit to at least one of the two weeks, though we’re also happy to welcome anyone who is only available for one or two afternoons. NazKids VBS Finale
Parents Night Out! On June 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM, we’d like to invite families to drop off their kids for a night of games, activities, snacks, and more! VBS has TWO MORE Weeks! 🦜 We’ve been spending Sunday Mornings at Rainforest Falls learning about the Nature of God. This week is our NazKids VBS Finale. We’ll still check in at 9:30 AM for our final VBS activities before our celebration service in the sanctuary at 10:30 AM. We’ll sing VBS songs and our NazKids Pastoral team will lead our message that morning. This week’s big idea is that God is Forever! NazKids Summer Rolls On!
Pray for Kids Camp! 🏕️ Kids Camp @ Salyer Lake is hapening right now! We pray that each NazKid encounters Jesus in a new and special way this week and that we all learn to “Commit” our lives to Him. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered and given to this amazing spiritual formation opportunity for our kids! Kids Camp Essentials
Kids Camp is next Monday! Every year this is one of my favorite times to watch our kids (and camp counselors!) have fun and grow closer to Jesus together.
This year’s theme will encourage us to “Commit” ourselves to Jesus. Please join us in prayer that God will speak to us next week and that lives will be changed forever! Travel Times We will depart Mustang Naz at 1:00 PM on Monday June 15th. Check in and loading will begin at 12:45. (Be sure to eat lunch before you arrive.) Return to Mustang Naz is scheduled for Thursday June 18th at 12:30 PM Things You Will Need…
As we prepare to go to Salyer Lake Camp together, here are all of the things you will need to fully participate in the camp.Packing List Items Not To Bring Money, phones, electronics, toys, dangerous items, weapons (including pocket knives), non prescription medications, drugs/alcohol, animals, or bad attitudes.Medication Form Please fill out the attached form and turned into camp staff before loading the bus.
ALL MEDICATION NEEDS TO BE PLACED IN A GALLON SIZE ZIPLOC WITH INSTRUCTIONS & THE CAMPERS NAME WRITTEN ON IT AND TURNED IN UPON ARRIVAL TO THE CHURCH! We’re going to have an amazing time and are grateful for everyone who will be joining us!

VBS Is Here!
Welcome to Rainforest Falls! 🦜🌴 Tonight is out VBS 2026 Kickoff and we couldn’t be more excited to learn about the Nature of God with everyone this year!Sign Up Here On Sunday Mornings from May 31st to June 28th we’re hosting VBS @ Mustang Naz. Each session will begin at 9:30 AM (check in begins at 9:20) and our NazKids will go through different stations of Bible lessons, games, crafts, snacks, music, and more! Parents, if you want to pregame the messages during family devotional time, our first week’s lesson highlights how God Created everything. Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Our prayer is that our kids will learn that God is very powerful and that they are loved by Him very much! We have an incredible crew of volunteers helping us facilitate VBS and are thankful for each and every one of them! Be sure to thank them when you see them! Don’t Forget! The Rainforest is unpredictable and we will want to have everyone prepared for whatever might happen! Dress in your finest rainforest gear instead of your “Sunday best” because we will have games that might involve water adventures!

This Is Fireworks Central From June 25th to July 5th we will be raising funds for students to use toward major youth group events like Camp, Fall Retreat, NYC, and Extravaganza by selling fireworks at Walmart in Mustang. It’s an explosively good time! The stands will be open for sales from June 27th to July 3rd from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM On July 4th the stand will be open for sales from 9:00 AM to 11:59 PM July 5th is clean up day at Wild Horse Park beginning at 8:00 AM 📅Sales Begin June 27th @ 4:00 PM
